Janice's journey →
This E-book is not published in the full length in English yet, but I have read the Danish version and I find it very interesting. Here is what the co-author states: This biography is made based on the diary of a young woman who lived in many years in Denmark before she went on a holiday at her birthmother’s county. Her values and morale is based on her upbringing in Denmark which some might...

Do not send Danish Exchange Students to Wisconsin
I just got the shocking news that a young Danish woman had her stay in Wisconsin terminated because she had sex with a boy of her age. She was 17 at the time. The agencies who had arranged her stay there should not have allowed people with an age below the legal age where sex is allowed to travel there because it is an integrated part of our culture to socialize close once they are about 17 years...

I just saw an article about a place where the social services used to put people until the newspapers began to write about them. Some of the clients slept in Lunatic boxes on the floor at night. Not even a prison cell is that small For more information - unfortunately only in Danish you can read the article in this link: Her blev handicappede låst inde i små sove celler i årevis A drawing of...

South African rehab - torture?
I didn’t believe what I read when I followed a link in a mail from a friend. It is about a rehab facility in South Africa where the clients are chained by the neck so they don’t run. I simply could’t read what I saw. Shut Noupoort - grieving dad (News 24) The place is still open. The government tried to shut them, but they won in court. I cannot believe it

I saw this blog
I searched a little about “Efterskole” because I have a cousin who don’t know whether he would take the 10th grade locally or at a boarding school. I mailed him the url and he thanked me afterwards to have made his decision easier. He will remain at home. Anyway here is a link to the blog: Jack’s blog in English

They cashed in but they killed the art →
I have been reading about Earl Sweatshirt and his story about a year in a wilderness program (You know those over in the States where teenagers are killed almost every year) and at a boot camp in Samoa. It is also a terrible place no teenagers should be forced to stay at. Here was a kid who had made a name for himself. He had made a career for himself instead of living on welfare. But that was...

Something I could be speaking out about and helping other people who are going through it right now. For too long I have been ashamed to admit that when I was 13 years… The story made me sad. There shouldn’t be places like that out there.

Anonymous asked: Regarding your Catherine Freer post, you only read about the 3 kids who died, not the thousands they saved. Like my daughter. She would have been dead without their help. Today she has a life free of drugs, anger, violence, and despair. She's at peace and is focused on her future. What's more shocking is that only 10% of teens who need treatment ever get it. Not to belittle the deaths of...

Divorce is also awful. The children pay the price
When mom and dad disagree on schooling they sometime choose boarding school so they can get their children on their side in nasty divorces. Here is such a case. The daughter want to be with her mother. The father wants her to go to a boarding school where he can get professional help convincing the daughter to love him most. The boarding school had a boy dying there in 2009 so this place is no...

Sick system: Jailing the victim

The 17 year old girl living in Sacramento California has been locked up in jail because they want her to testify against a man who raped and sexually assaulted her on three  different occasions. ...

The politicians and the media are wondering why there is a lack of specialized foster families. Of course the former workers in group homes...

Young Danes provide their testimonies about their experiences in the Danish foster care system. Freedom of speech - not in Denmark →
A worker protested monitoring of people who have been fined for speeding. As result of his public appearance he was fired from the firm he had been working for in decades. Freedom of speech and democracy is no longer a thing in Denmark. Try to look at various Arabic countries. They know how to fight for it. I find it distasteful that the firm Per Aarsleff fired this man who had been loyal for...

We are living in year 2011. Not year 1011 or 1511. Removing children from the society and locking them away and keep them under pressure until they surrender to God should not be something we should see in our time. But they exist. I cannot understand why. Can you?

Just the latest case of abuse
A staff member at the former residential treatment center known as Gøge-reden (Cuckoo’s Nest) forced a 15 year old girl to engage in some kind of sexual act. For this crime he received 60 days in prison! 60 days. Of course he also can no longer work as caretaker for minors and he got a fine of 15,000 DKK which is some thousand US dollars. This is how little value the so-called troubled...

The foster system in Denmark is broken
Greedy foster parents want to fight cuts in their salery. The rest of us citizens in Denmark are suffering due to the status of the econmy. It has not been that bad for decades. I only hope that the authorities manage to cut the saleries. It is obvious that it was not about the children but only about the money.

Politics is a 3 minutes message
I am somewhat tired of politicians. It is impossible to speak of heavy issues like health, justice, security, education unless they are able to go on Television and state something as they were advertising a product.
